Taking my hobby more seriously

I have been writing blog post under the World According to Ally and on Word Press with a focus on Career Services for years and quite frankly I've been all over the place. I have used all of these tools for a creative outlet. Honestly, I love to create. The ideas flow and I don't always find the time to get them on paper or video.

My son, a business major at Benedict College was working on his business plan and asked me about owning my brand. He said many people use "the world according to {insert name} and it wasn't that creative. The shade was real, but he was right. He said even as a hobby I should own my brand and take it seriously, again the shade was real; and again he was correct. He purchased his domain name for a business idea and I was out here writing, vlogging, and podcasting with no solid brand identity and a basic title.

I was all over the place because it was a hobby. If it was career services focused I went to word press, if it was social or political commentary I was on wix, just a mess. So I did a thing. He and I brainstormed ideas for a new name, and we purchased the domain name.

I Heard it Through the Bervine was born on March 28, 2021. It is fitting because I was born on March 28th, 19 none of your business.

I don't know if I can merge all the sites together, quite honestly it may take a minute to combine and rebrand everything, but even as a hobby I should own me, and thanks to my son I do.
